Silicon Machine is started by Dr. Ganesh Bhokare, having 15+ experience in SW & FW design & development in DSP, Audio, Video & Embedded systems on various DSP embedded platforms such as TI, AD and various proprietary platforms. His core research area is Audio, image and vide o signal processing.
He has completed Ph. D. and M. Tech. from IIT Mumbai (India), in Electronics Communication with specialization in Signal Processing.
His Ph.D. research topic was “ Novel Image Compression Algorithms based on Embedded Zero Tree Coding in Discrete Wavelet Transform”. The algorithm developed in this research outperforms latest JPEG-2000 algorithm by 1dB in terms of PSNR for natural images and around 4-5dB for finger print images. The peculiarity of this algorithm is for more textured images it gives higher PSNR which is not case with other existing algorithms.
